韦恩州立大学（Wayne State University）成立于1868 年，位于美国汽车制造业中心的底特律市，全校由13个学院，350个专业，共有3万多名学生，学校占地203英亩，有100多幢建筑，是美国最大的公立学校之一。作为密西根州三大综合性大学之一。
食品科学研究生的申请具体办法如下。
录取标准：
Ø An undergraduate degree with a major in science
Ø GPA: A minimum grade point average of 3.0
Ø The GRE test must be taken within 6 months of admission to the program
Ø 申请日期：Applications are accepted year round - but students can only start the program in the Fall semester. Students are encouraged to apply by December (for admission the following Fall semester), in order to meet various deadlines for funding (e.g. Graduate Professional Scholarship - for which application deadline is March 1).
Ø 本科课程要求：Having the equivalent of the following undergraduate courses (or their equivalents): Human Nutrition and Metabolism, Food Chemistry, Introductory Microbiology; Anatomy and Physiology, and one semester of Organic Chemistry.
